Porting OneWire to Arduino STM32

posted in: Arduino | 0

Onewire devices are commonly used with the Arduino, including the excellent DS18x20 thermometer. Unfortunately the OneWire library accesses the micro-controller GPIO hardware directly. This appears to be in order to meet the bus timings when using 16Mhz AVR devices. The OneWire library has already been ported to Arduino Due as well as Teensy and PIC32, and has a defined way to add new architecture by adding a new block of code into OneWire.h to … Read More

Wiki for Arduino STM32 etc

Because the thread on the Arduino forum is now huge, 50 + pages; by popular demand I’ve added a wiki to the GitHub repo which over time should help new users over the initial hurdles See https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/Arduino_STM32/wiki Support for the Microduino STM32 board (www.microduino.com) has been added – thanks to the work of Ian Hawthown Some refactoring of the code has taken place, so that duplicate files from the variants folder(s) have been moved … Read More

Updates to Arduino_STM32 code

Over the last 2 or 3 weeks, I’ve made a lot of changes to the code on GitHub (https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/Arduino_STM32 ) The main addition has been SPI, which generally conforms to the Arduino 1.0.x API, and I have successfully compiled and run the SD card example sketch CardInfo.ino that comes with the IDE, and read the contents of several SD cards. The changed actually required rather a lot of re-factoring of the code structure, but … Read More

STM32F103 and Maple / Maple Mini with Arduino 1.5.x IDE

posted in: Arduino | 0

By popular request on the Arduino forum, I’m posting a quick tutorial on how to use a generic / unbranded STM32F103 board I bought from an eBay supplier with the Arduino 1.5.x IDE.   Before I start, I need to give credit first of all to LeafLabs who’s did all the original development work for the STM32F1xx processor, for their products the Maple and Maple min. Additionally I need to credit Bob Cousins for … Read More

STM32 boards on eBay with Arduino in their description

posted in: Arduino | 0

Just a quick posting about some STM32F1XX  based boards which seem to popped up recently on eBay, with Arduino in their description   The fist one I noticed was this one   TM32F103C8T6 ARM STM32 Minimum System Development Board   Although these devices have Arduino in their title, its a bit missleading, as its impossible to use them as with the normal IDE and they require both additional hardware files, (see my next post) … Read More
